Helping Families Help Themselves

The Salvation Army's Santa Fe Springs Transitional Living Center provides a stimulating and safe refuge for families with children to evaluate their lives after times of crisis. In a loving and supportive environment, families are given the tools and encouragement to get back on their feet and on to productive and fulfilling lives. The focus of the program is empowerment through education and vocational training, leading to employment and independent housing.

Currently volunteers from WACC provide child care on Tuesday and Thursday nights (from 6 to 7) so that the mothers of the children can attend a Bible Study and another program that helps them to grow spiritually. At Christmas we provide gifts for five of the families.

More volunteers are need to provide child care. Babysitters needed on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7 pm – so the women can attend Bible Study.
